Program Accolades
Honda Wins IntelliChoice® "Best in Class" Award for the 5th Straight Year*
Though competition among manufacturer certified used-car programs has increased, Honda continues to set the standard among non-luxury nameplates—based on the findings of IntelliChoice, a leading provider of automotive information to consumers. The Campbell, California-based research firm rated the Honda Certified Used Cars program "Best in Class" for the fifth year running.
What makes Honda's program so dominant? IntelliChoice cited our used-car warranty, inspection list, use of vehicle history reports and the level of participation by dealers in Honda's Certified Used-Car program.
"Honda continues to set the standard for certified non-luxury programs," said IntelliChoice publisher Dave Wurster in announcing the survey results. "This fifth-straight win is proof of Honda's commitment to their program, their dealers and most importantly, their customers."
IntelliChoice, working with a team of ASE-certified mechanics, developed a standardized list of 141 items that should be inspected when certifying a used car. Manufacturer programs were then rated based on how well their inspection lists compared with the standard, as well as other factors.
Among non-luxury nameplates, Honda came the closest to meeting—in some areas exceeding—the IntelliChoice standard.
